North Scituate Elementary School
Summer Update 2020
A note from Mrs. Soccio
I hope you are having an fantastic summer and making memories with your family. Thank you for your patience and support during this time as we plan for the 2020-2021 school year.
To date, we've had a few staff changes. Mrs. Tudino, one of our paraprofessionals, retired at the end of last school year. Also, Mrs. Farrar, one of our kindergarten teachers, has retired. We wish them both all the best in this next chapter of their life! Miss Miguel, grade 3 teacher, found a teaching job much closer to home and will not be joining us this fall. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors! We welcome, Christina Caldarone, from the Middle School to fill our grade 3 position. Ms. Gauvin, grade one, has returned to Hope School as the Title I Interventionist. In addition, Ms. Tourgee, our art teacher, completed her one year position at North Scituate School. We will certainly miss her creativity next school year! Ms. Davis, from Scituate Middle School, moved into our art teacher position. Welcome Ms. Davis! I am working diligently to fill our open Kindergarten and First Grade teacher positions. Your child's placement information (teacher) will be available as positions are filled and the decision is given on 8/17.
Please continue reading for the most up to date announcements and information about school reopening. As always, please reach out with any questions, suggestions, or concerns. I look forward to a new and exciting school year!

Distance Learning Option
As discussed during our Town Hall meeting last Thursday, Distance Learning is an option for all Scituate students. Parents/guardians who wish to opt their child into Distance Learning for the upcoming school year are asked to email Superintendent Andries (Laurie.Andries@ScituateSchoolsRI.net) and her administrative assistant (Jennifer.Carnevale@ScituateSchoolsri.net). As of right now, there is no minimum time commitment for the Distance Learning option. More information about Distance Learning will be communicated to all families over the next few weeks.
Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
