Quist Weekly News
April 8, 2022
Dear ROYALS Families,
As we approach the end of the year, we have started planning and finalizing details for end-of-year celebrations. In addition to beginning the planning process for next year, thank you for all of the feedback received through our Spring Parent Survey. Our initial analysis has provided us with additional insight concerning communication, student safety, and community. We are taking this insight to revisit our processes and future goals.
Next Tuesday, our Parent Advisory Committee and ROYAL Patrol will be meeting starting at 5:30 pm. I encourage you to attend, as this is a great opportunity to continue to share feedback, support upcoming school initiatives, and help us as we implement processes to meet the greatest needs within our community.
End of year celebrations started as a tradition at Quist and we are excited to be able to have them again this year! Each grade level will be going on a field trip to celebrate our school year. More details will be sent home. For now, I can share…
6th Grade will be going to Boondocks on May 24th
7th Grade will be going to Sky Zone on May 20th
8th Grade will be going to Elitch Gardens on May 20th
8th Grade Families, please save the date! Continuation is scheduled for May 24th at 1pm. Due to our gym capacity of 900 and current student enrollment, we are asking families to a limit of two guests, per student. We are working on a live stream option to ensure all that want to see have the opportunity to. Our 8th grade team is looking for donations for this event. We have a small budget to host a student BBQ and want to make it big! If you are able, we could use donations of the below items. More information will be sent in the coming weeks.
Snack Size Chips
Cases of Water/Drinks
Paper Plates/Napkins/SilverWare
Gift Cards to Walmart for decorations
Important Update! COURSE SELECTION FOR 22/23
As we think about next year, our counseling team through pathways classes will complete the course selection process for our current 6th and 7th grade students.
Current 6th grade students will be completing their 7th grade course selection for Explore classes for the 22/23 school year on 4/14 during Pathways class.
Current 7th grade students will be completing their 8th grade course selection for Explore classes for the 22/23 school year the week of 4/12 during Pathways class.
Please click HERE for specific course options that will be offered at Quist. Please discuss with your students what classes they may be interested in for next school year to help them be prepared for course selection next week.
If you have any questions, please contact your student's grade level counselor or Darcy Brown at dbrown@sd27j.net
Thank you for your continued partnership.
Have a great weekend!

- If you want to receive text updates from me/coaches, we will use the Remind App. Here is the link for soccer; here is the link for track.
- Parent Volunteers - Track has a heavy volunteer need - please use this link to sign up. We need up to 12 volunteers for each meet! Thank you for considering helping to create these awesome contests for our athletes.
- Soccer Referees - Please contact me if you have experience as a soccer referee. I will put you in contact with our contractor, Mile High Officials.
- Practice continues this week. Next contest for soccer is April 12 vs PVMS (Boys are home, girls are away). First contest for track is April 13 vs Stuart @ Riverdale Ridge HS track. Our entire schedule is on our school website and contests start @ 5:00 p.m.

All Sports
- To accomodate the school dance, athletic practices will be cancelled on April 15.
- Pictures have been scheduled - track will be April 8 and Soccer will be April 22. (This is a change!!) Here is the link to order photos for track - the link for orders for soccer are coming. You can order when pictures are taken OR before the end of the season.
- Please check IC for fees that need to be paid. All fees must be paid before participation in contests can happen. Please bring payment (cash or check) to the RQMS main office. Please contact Kate Brown if you have questions.
- Athletes must have a current physical submitted (FamilyID or brought to RQMS office) before any participation in either practice or contests can happen.
- Eligibility is pulled on Thursdays and shared with athletes during practices on Fridays. If an athlete is not eligible, this impacts next week's games. In order to become eligible, the athlete needs to complete an Eligibility Rubric (here is the link) AND improve the grade in the classes with D or F grades. 2 or more Ds or 1 F is considered ineligible. Additionally, an athlete could be ineligible if they are not showing RISE/ROAR behaviors in their classes. If there are concerns, teachers will communicate with families about what is happening and coaching will be provided to show improvement. Rubrics are also available in the office and from coaches.
Thank you for all your support and grace! We are so excited to offer sports programming to all our students this year.
