Here you can see the beautiful ocean. Monkey Mia is located at Dolphin Beach, famous for its kilometers of white sand and beautiful clear waters.
Things To Do
Swim with the dolphins! The best time to go to Monkey Mia is 7:45am or 12 at noon to see them.
Go camel riding! Tours are run daily for all level of experience.
Go bird watching! There is almost 100 different species of birds to be seen at Monkey Mia.
Go for an Aboriginal cultural walk! Discover the local Malgana, Nhanda and Gnulli Aboriginal people who lived in gathaagudua (Aboriginal name for shark bay, meaning waters) for thousands of years. You’ll learn the secrets of bush survival including bush tucker and bush medicine.

The Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort is the only accommodation of Monkey Mia and has been a poud supporter of the monkey Mia dolphin research for more than a decade. The resort offers accommodation to travellers.
The Dolphin Experience
In an amazing wildlife ritual that has been going for over 40 years, a small number of dolphins come ashore at Monkey Mia almost every day to the delight patient onlookers. These bottlenose dolphins are fed a small amount of fish on their first three visits each day which can happen anytime between 8.00am and 12 midday. Dolphins visit the beach more frequently in the early mornings.
Department of Environment and Conservation staff supervise the feeding and ensure the wellbeing of the animals is maintained. The chance to see dolphins is almost guaranteed and days when these wild dolphins do not visit the shore are rare
Getting There
You can drive yourself to Monkey Mia, take a commercial tour or travel with a coach company. It is approximately 850 km from Perth (around ten hours drive) and 420km from Geraldton (minimum four hours drive).
