Information from Mr. Friedle about Think First and Stay Safe program
Hello Tipton Elementary Families,
Once again this year, our students will have a presentation from (ICPYAS) the Indiana Center for Prevention of Youth Abuse & Suicide, formerly known as Chaucie's Place. Think First and Stay Safe is a comprehensive body safety program that teaches children in grades K-5 ways to keep their bodies safe. The children will also learn appropriate ways to prevent, respond to, and report situations such as bullying, cyberbullying, and all forms of abuse and neglect.
Topics of focus include: Using your Built in Computer, Your Brain, My Body Belongs to Me, Telling a Trusted Adult, and Everyone Deserves to be Treated with Respect.
Each grade level presentation will take place in the classroom and last approximately 35-40 minutes. Presentations will be done via a Zoom format.
Although not required, each child's attendance in the program is strongly recommended. Please click here for the Opt Out form only if you DO NOT want your child to attend. Opt Out forms should be submitted no later than March 15th.
The program will be presented to students at school on Monday, March 22nd, 2021.
For additional information regarding this program please visit the ICPYAS website at:

FAQs:
Q. Why is TES hosting a program about youth abuse?
A. Indiana legislation passed SEA 355, requiring all schools to provide policies and instruction regarding youth abuse to students and staff beginning in July 2018.
Q. Why does TES utilize ICPYAS' program?
A. ICPYAS provides research and evidence based instruction designed for specific age/grade levels. Their employees are highly qualified in education and/or mental health fields. ICPYAS is able to offer TES the program at no charge.
