Linked below is another copy of the proposed bylaws and the duties of the officers. For officers, we will accept nominations from the floor as we still have not received any volunteers coming forward. Please consider serving your students, staff, and school.
Remember, voting on the budget is so that events and activities can be planned for the beginning of the year; changes can always be made and voted on, but we technically can not have any back-to-school activities and spend money on them if there hasn't been a budget for the year adopted.
We look forward to seeing you all on the 14th!
8th Grade Promotion
8th Grade Promotion will take place at Kennedy High School on Thursday, June 16th at 10 am. Students are expected to arrive at Kennedy at 9:30 am. Doors will open for families to enter the auditorium at 9:30 am. Attendees must have a Promotion Ticket to enter the auditorium. The ceremony will be streamed live.

End of the Year School-Issued Devices
Greetings Argyle families,
As we prepare for the end of the school year, we would like to share this important information regarding school-issued devices.
All 8th-grade students are required to turn in their school-issued iPads and Chromebooks and chargers prior to the last day of school. The collection began on Friday, June 10, and all students who turned in their devices were issued their promotion tickets. Students who still need to turn in their devices may do so next week leading up to promotion on Thursday, June 16. For students who have lost their devices, a financial obligation may be issued.
All 6th and 7th-grade students who are returning to Argyle next school year may keep their devices over the summer. Please check to be sure that your child has their device and charger. Any missing or broken devices should be reported to the tech team prior to the end of the school year using this form:
Broken devices will be collected for repair over the summer.
Finally, any student who will not be returning to Argyle next school year must turn in their device next week. Students should return any and all devices and chargers that were assigned to them during the school year. Failure to turn in a school-issued device may result in a financial obligation to cover the loss.

BOARD OF EDUCATION VOTES TO MAKE MASKS OPTIONAL IN MCPS
During its March 8 business meeting, the Montgomery County Board of Education voted to make masks optional in all MCPS schools and facilities. This new guidance goes into effect immediately.
This action follows the state of Maryland’s decision to end its statewide mask mandate in schools and aligns with revised Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines that no longer recommend universal mask-wearing in schools.
To maintain the safety of our staff and students, other COVID-19 mitigation strategies will continue, including in-school rapid and random testing, distribution of take-home test kits, improved HVAC systems, and vaccination availability. Mask-wearing in MCPS will become optional indoors, outside, and on school buses. Anyone who chooses to wear a mask may continue to do so, and your child may request a mask from their school if they want one.

Tutoring with External Tutoring Providers
MCPS has contracted with two external tutoring companies to provide direct tutoring services to students. This will ensure a robust tutoring program in all schools so that every student in need of support is able to receive it through various modalities and resources.
COVID - 19 Procedures for Students & Families
As we return to school, we continue to rely on our families and each individual to screen themselves daily for symptoms. To help us avoid quarantine, we are asking that you please continue to screen your children at home and if they have even one symptom of COVID-19, or are awaiting COVID test results, please do not send them to school.
This is particularly important if your child has any of the following single symptoms they will be sent home and not be able to return to school until they have a negative test, alternate diagnosis, or complete a full 10-day quarantine. It is a collective responsibility that we exercise extreme caution and be conservative in our approach.
Please do not send your children to school with any of COVID-like symptoms. This is essential for us to continue to remain in school without quarantine.

FREE AND REDUCED-PRICE MEALS
Students may qualify for free or reduced-price meals based on household size and income. They may also qualify if they are receiving Food Supplement Program (FSP) or Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) benefits. Families may apply for meal benefits by completing an Application for Free and Reduced-Price Meals for the current school year.
Apply online NOW at MySchoolApps.com (Translations available)
Federal eligibility guidelines change each school year; therefore a new application must be submitted each school year. All students in the family should be listed on one household application. A notice will be mailed home for each student if you are approved for meal benefits or do not qualify for meal benefits. Please keep this important document for your records and use throughout the school year. Families may apply for meal benefits at any time during the school year.
Households that are unable to apply online should contact their school or the Division of Food and Nutrition Services at 301-284-4900.
Please click here to apply online.
