MPES Learning At Home
Keeping our Students Engaged
June 1 - June 5
Message from Mrs. Mamon
Below you will find links to the learning opportunities that our teachers have developed for the week of June 1 - 5. These lessons, learning activities and assignments are for review, practice and enrichment. The plans include a blend of activities that can be done either with or without access to technology. Our goal is to provide ideas to keep students engaged and learning during this time. While these activities are for review and enrichment only, we do encourage students to participate to keep their learning going! Please reach out to me or your child's teacher if you have questions about any of the learning activities or online programs.
Our elementary device deployments will continue this week. Please see below (after the learning activities links) for more details.
Deployment will be conducted from 9 – 11 am and 2 – 4 pm on the following days for the grades noted:
Wednesday, May 27 - 3rd Grade
Friday, May 29 - 4th Grade
Monday, June 1- 5th Grade
Wednesday, June 3 - Kindergarten
Friday, June 5 - 1st Grade

Elementary Device Deployments
Elementary Device Deployment will continue this week! MPCS will continue to offer learning opportunities throughout the summer, and we are excited to announce a device deployment for Cougar and Manassas Park Elementary Students!
Device pick up is not mandatory. Any child can obtain a device, but if your child has access to a device and you do not wish to have a school device at home, pick up is not needed.
In addition to continued learning opportunities this summer, deployment at this time will further prepare us all for any potential events surrounding school openings in fall.
Our staff is committed to ensuring students have learning access during these unprecedented times. Teachers continue to develop lesson plans, and our IT department is hard at work expanding internet access throughout our community.
This work will continue throughout the summer months with the goal that internet connectivity is available to all Manassas Park students.
Deployment will be conducted from 9 – 11 am and 2 – 4 pm on the following days for the grades noted:
Wednesday, May 27 - 3rd Grade
Friday, May 29 - 4th Grade
Monday, June 1- 5th Grade
Wednesday, June 3 - Kindergarten
Friday, June 5 - 1st Grade
Monday, June 8 - 2nd Grade
For planning purposes, signing up here is appreciated. However, appointments are not required. Staff will be on site for the duration of each pick-up window.
Please note the following important details:
- A parent or guardian will need to be present to sign out the Chromebook(s).
- Families should enter the elementary campus using Cougar Court.
- Follow volunteer directions and plan to remain in your car throughout the process.
- Please wear a mask and bring a pen to use to sign out the Chromebook(s).
- Families may pick up Chromebooks for all K-5 children at the same time.
Please email any questions to stacey.mamon@mpark.net or ann.gwynn@mpark.net.
BONUS! If you have library books in your home that you would like to return to the school, return locations will be available upon exiting the device pick up line!
Cell Phone Hotspot Data
Some families have expressed that they may not have high-speed internet access at home. If you have a cell phone, your carrier may have provided you with additional hotspot data for free, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please check with your cell phone provider to see what options are available to you.

Suggested Elementary Learning Schedule (from MPCS Continuous Learning Plan)
MPCS Food Distribution Continues
MPCS is providing prepackaged grab-and-go meals at no charge to all children, age 18 and under. Meal pickup will take place on Tuesdays at the main entrance of Manassas Park High School between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
In order to minimize the number of times parents must bring their children to the distribution site, a weekly set of prepackaged breakfasts and lunches will be provided on Tuesdays. All meals will be the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
For the safety of everyone, it is important to follow the guidance supplied by our volunteers to maintain safe social distancing practices and vehicle passage.
