Pinehill School News, 17 November
17 November 2021 - Week 5, Term 4
Message from our Principal
Kia ora tatou,
Welcome to Week 5! It is hard to believe that we are already halfway through Term 4!
It was wonderful to have our students and families join us in our School Zoom assembly on Monday to start the week.
I took the opportunity at this assembly to talk to the children about our processes and systems at school for those that are returning full time or part time onsite from today. The Level 3 step we are in continues to have many health and safety guidelines our children and staff must adhere to.
The important measures are listed below:
Parents/caregivers are not able to come onsite.
New Entrant students starting at Pinehill - please read Health and Safety Guidelines
School drop off is at 8:40am. We can not have any students arriving before this time as we can not adhere to the Health and Safety Guidelines prior to this time.
Pick up is 2:45pm except for registered bubble students (3:00pm).
Parents must stay in their cars when dropping off and picking up students (Spencer Rd only).
Students who are walking home are to meet parents outside the gates. Parents, please keep distanced from each other (approx 2m).
Playground is closed from 3pm to all.
Yr 4-6 students and staff are required to wear face masks.
We encourage all our students in Y0-Y3 to wear face masks.
Parents are not able to drop morning tea or lunches off during the day as parents are not able to come onsite.
Please organise morning tea and lunch for your children to take to school when they are rostered on to attend.
No EZY lunch orders at this time.
PKC is closed
Today we opened up school in our full time (for registered Level 3 workers students), part time (Y4-Y6 students) and online (for all students remaining at home). We had 112 students in total onsite. It was wonderful to see students and staff again today after a very long, extended lock down. With our current smaller numbers our systems are working. We will however, review our systems and processes and we may need to make further changes to our plan, particularly if there is any congregation around pick up and drop off times. We will continue to keep you updated with any changes.
As shared with you on Friday, please read through our Health and Safety Plan for all other procedures.
URGENT Library Books and Readers - We need your help!
Our library books are due back in the library so that our lovely librarian, Sue Barratt, can undertake a stock take. This occurs annually at this time of the year and is a MASSIVE task. Parents of our Level 3 full time registered children, can you please ensure your child/ren bring their library books and/or readers back by this Friday 19th November. Parents of our children returning part time, can you please ensure your child/ren bring their library book back by next Wednesday 24th November.
Parents of our children remaining at home to continue with Distance Learning, we have a clear box with a blue lid outside the school office (labeled Library book returns) for library books and readers to be dropped into. As you are not entering the school grounds, we have made this a contactless procedure, so that you can drop the book/s into the box and go. Please wear a mask. We would really appreciate all library books returned by Wednesday 24th November to support Sue with stocktaking.
Full School Assembly - Monday 22nd November at 9:00am
While children are at school full time, part time and distance learning from home, I will continue to hold a school assembly each Monday at 9:00am. It is important we come together as a school and remain connected in the very few weeks we have left together in 2021.
Families are welcome to join us. Please ensure your child’s microphone is on mute so there is no background noise while assembly is running. Details for the zoom assembly are below.
