Principal's Corner: Parent Updates & Reminders
Dear Panda Families:
As you should already know, we will be on Thanksgiving Break November 23-27, 2020 which means schools will be closed. Per our recent school board meeting on November 19th, the school board approved for Monday, November 30th and Tuesday, December 1st to be remote learning days for the entire district. This means students and staff WILL NOT REPORT to school face to face. All learning will be remote.
Due to these recent changes, our K-2 Launch to Literacy Program will be postponed until the week of December 7, 2020. Please be on the lookout for more information regarding this.
Covid Reporting
Lastly, I want to encourage everyone to enjoy your family time, catch up on your rest, and STAY SAFE during this Thanksgiving Break! Please do your best to avoid crowded places, large gatherings, and remain socially distanced with masks on. I want to encourage my families to get Covid tested prior to returning to school if you are:
- Traveling out of state or the country
- Participating in any large gatherings (10 or more) over the break
- Exhibiting any Covid19 like symptoms (i.e., fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, headaches or body aches, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, or fatigue) or
- Suspect that you may have been exposed to Covid19
Please also note that, if your child has been tested or is being tested for Covid YOU MUST complete the Fulton County Schools Parent Covid Reporting. PLEASE let me know as well if you are COVID testing. The Parent Covid Reporting can be found on the FCS website or by using the link: https://fultonschools.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6hWlX46FNk8pNlz
Let’s all commit to taking the steps necessary to stay healthy during Covid19 and keep our kids safe.
Second Semester Parent Elections
You will need to complete the Parent Election Survey to choose Face to Face (F2F) or Remote Learning for second semester for your child or children. This short Commitment Survey is to let us know your plans for your student as we move into the Second Semester of the 2020-2021 school year. The selection you make will be in place for the first 9 weeks of Second Semester. If you do not complete the commitment survey, the student’s learning environment election will remain the same as it stands on December 14.
You will be asked to enter your student's ID on the next page. The student ID is the same as the lunch number. If you do not know your student's ID, please check Infinite Campus for the ID number.
You will need to complete the survey once for each of your students at FCS. Please use this survey link: https://fultonschools.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1SlCTwRkD5mz8mp
Stay Connected
Lastly, if you have not done so already, please log into your parent portal on the Fulton County Schools website (www.fultonschools.org) and make sure your contact information is updated. If we are forced to go back to Universal Remote Learning to an increase in Covid cases after the break, we will need to be able to communicate with you.
Please stay safe and stay connected!
Brookview is receiving a donation of Winter Coats to our Pandas in need. If your child(ren) needs a coat, please complete the following form.
**Please note- If you have multiple children at Brookview, you will need to complete ONE form per child.**
Fulton County Schools (FCS) in partnership with the Fulton County Board of Health (FCBOH) is introducing a new online

Brookview Parent & Family Engagement Plan and School-Family Compacts
Greetings Parents and Families,
Attached below, you will find our school wide Parental and Family Engagement Policy, which has been developed jointly with, and agreed on with, parents of children participating in the Title I, Part A programs. This policy was adopted by Brookview Elementary School on October 2, 2020 and will be in effect for the period of 2020-2021 school year. Brookview Elementary will distribute this policy to all parents of participating Title I, Part A children on or before October 15, 2020 and will be placed on the school website.
Also attached you will find Brookview's School-Family Compact, which was jointly developed by our teachers and parents. The compact outlines the shared responsibilities of parents, students, teachers, and administrators for student academic achievement. The compact also outlines how the school and parents will develop a partnership for student success. School-Family compacts will be placed on the school website at the beginning of the year.
Please review this information with your student(s).
