Trillium Creek Dress Code Policy
Student Dress Guidelines
Parents, please review the following information with your child, especially if they choose their own clothing each morning. Here at Trillium Creek Primary, we follow the guidelines below that are used at our middle schools. Thank you for your support!
While we understand that the clothing our students choose are related to fashion and trends, our top priority each day is to maintain our school as a professional place of learning. Appropriate and respectful attire is always expected. In the event of a question about student dress, students will call their parents to let them know, and they will be provided clean clothing to wear (often over their clothes) for the day or until alternate clothing is brought to the school. Students will return to class after requesting a change of clothes be brought to school and after they put on the provided alternate clean clothing. We encourage students to layer clothing to prevent the need for such a disruption in the school day.
Guidelines:
1. Layering of clothing is highly encouraged
2. No spaghetti straps, halter tops or tube tops
3. Necklines should be 'modest' and provide full coverage
4. No bare midriff or torso revealing tops
5. Tops should overlap waistbands (seated or standing)
6. At no time should underwear be visible
7. Skirts and shorts should be no more than three inches above the knee (seated or standing)
8. Tights and spandex attire should be covered with other appropriate clothing
9. No clothing or jewelry should promote drugs, offensive language, alcohol or other offensive matter
Classroom Placement
Dear Trillium Families and Friends,
Later this month, we begin making classroom placements for next school year. We give this complex process a great deal of time and thought to ensure every child is placed with a community that allows them to thrive. Our goal is to create balanced classroom communities with a range of student strengths and talents. Soon, classroom teachers, specialists and I will work together during several meetings to create balanced classrooms for next year. Creating equitable learning communities to foster strong relationships and appropriate levels of challenge is our goal, which we do with much consideration and thought.
As a parent you may wish to share more information to assist us in this process. If this is the case, you are free to pick up a parent input form in office. Please return these forms to the office no later than May 20th. Forms containing sensitive information should be addressed to me.
Please do not request the name of a specific teacher. Due to the complexity of the placement process and the sheer amount of varied requests we receive, we cannot accommodate these types of requests.
Please know your child's current teacher(s) will be intimately involved in the placement process. Our teachers will act in the best interest of your child to make a solid placement. You may simply rely on his or her judgement without the need to write a letter.
Placement is an exciting opportunity to think about the possibilities of next year and we do our utmost to create classroom communities that honor and support the learning of each child. We are extremely fortunate to have such an outstanding group of educators in each grade level; helping children grow, develop and thrive.
Best wishes,
Jim Mangan

Give Us Your 2019-20 Budget Feedback
The West Linn-Wilsonville School District, Budget Committee, and School Board will soon begin the process of creating the 2019-20 Budget. For those who were unable to attend last week's Community Budget Listening and Learning Session, the following is a link to an informational video in which Superintendent Kathy Ludwig explains the 2019-20 Budget Process. This informational webinar highlights many of the important factors that will guide District Leaders as they begin creating the 2019-20 Budget: 2019-20 Budget Information Webinar.
The Budget Committee and School Board are also seeking public input regarding the 2019-20 budget during this time. To provide feedback, please complete the 2019-20 Budget Feedback Survey.
This survey will remain open throughout the Budget Process. Superintendent Ludwig will give her 2019-20 Budget Message at the April 22 Board Meeting, and the first Budget Committee Meeting is scheduled for May 13. All Budget Committee meetings are open to the public. For more information, please visit the District Website.
WLWV School Calendar Changes
West Linn-Wilsonville Community,
The Oregon Education Association is organizing a statewide day of action planned for May 8 related to insufficient school funding. District leaders are unsure at this point the number of teachers expecting to participate across the Portland metro area. Teachers in West Linn-Wilsonville School District who plan to attend the day of action will be excused from work by taking a personal day.
In order to keep the full allotment of instructional hours intact for our students, and maintain our high level of quality teaching and learning when children are in the classroom, the School Board has approved a calendar change with our professional development days.
- Wednesday, April 24 will be a FULL day of school for all students.
- Wednesday, May 8 will be a FULL Professional Growth Wednesday work day for teachers. There will be no school for students.
- Wednesday, May 22 will be a Professional Growth Wednesday (Early Release) for Primary Students only. Middle School and High School Students will have a FULL day of school.
We believe this adjustment keeps our overall mission and goals intact: ensuring all students receive a full year of instructional hours through quality teaching and learning.
We thank our community for their flexibility with this mid-year change to the calendar.
