Reflections from Mr. Swegles
Case and point...on Monday, September 23 I had a parent (who also happens to be a teacher in the district) approach me with how impressed she was that one our students took the time to hold the door open for other students as they entered the building from the drop off/pick-up lane. Then, on Friday, September 27 I had the parent send the following via Messenger:
"I was hoping you could post this on the site. A great act of kindness for an unknown student.... on 9/27/19 at 7:10 am I dropped off my daughter at Lakeshore Middle School. I Was able to see her walk in. A young man with a Hunter Green Hoodie was so kindly open the door for my daughter. I took that to heart and I was thinking, if only I was able to tell him, Thank you and how much of a gentleman he was. I am sure his parents would be very proud. What a great example He is for Lakeshore Middle School."
Thank you to the parents who took time out of their day to share their thoughts with me. I will certainly relay them to students as it is a first-hand account to support the fact that there are indeed eyes and ears everywhere.
