Break begins for students on December 22 and second semester begins on January 8th.
During break, offices are closed; expect a response to phone calls or emails delivered

Life After LHS - Graduate Discussion Panel
Hear from LHS Class of 2023 graduates as they discuss the realities of Life After LHS with Ms. Murphy. Grads logged in from College of Lake County, Claremont McKenna College, Clemson University, Loyola University, Rollins College, University of Iowa and the University of Georgia for this discussion on 12/14/23.
With over 30 scholarships, students will find at least one that fits their post-high school plan!

FAFSA Opening by 12/31 - Get Prepared!
Students and parents will need their FSA ID and financial information from 2022 to complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA. Create your FSA ID with a personal email today!
Class of 2024 - Announcements and Reminders
- Bookmark this Class of 2024 Resources page in order to stay on task and informed with next steps!
- As decisions are shared, refer to this Admitted, Deferred, Denied guide for help with next steps and reminders that the admission process is not predictable or personal!
- Review the Class of 2024 Financial Aid Resources to stay informed and on track with financial aid tasks and requirements
- Plan to visit the CRC on January 10th or January 24th for FAFSA completion assistance; seniors and senior parents are encouraged to come in for help with this process.
- Even though the FAFSA is not open yet, you and your parent can create your FSA ID in preparation for the December rollout. Ms. Murphy and LHS's ISAC partner, Emily Coveny talk through this process in this video. Fast forward to the 3:00 minute mark for a quickstart, and access this site to start on the same page as Emily does in the video walk through.
- Schedule a meeting with Ms. Murphy! While we may be through the fall frenzy of applications, I am still here to answer questions, talk through options and review any supplemental writing. Reach out with your questions or schedule a meeting to chat through all of the things!

- Plan to attend at least one Career Speaker Series talk
- Mark your calendar to attend Ms. Murphy's Junior Jumpstart Workshops taking place monthly second semester.
- FREE practice SAT opportunity! D128 has partnered with Compass Prep to offer sophomores and juniors a practice SAT this winter. All testing is online and will be completed at home.
- Watch the recording of Ms. Murphy's discussion about Life After LHS with Class of 2023 graduates. Our grads shared So. Much. Great. Info. Listen and learn from them over break!
- Plan your senior schedule with balance, interests and post-LHS plans in mind.
- Stay/get involved in a club or activity

- Consider your testing plans. All Juniors will take the SAT at school on April 15th. It is up to you to decide on additional tests and schedule your seat at offered dates. College Board/SAT Information ~ ACT Information.
- Consider your summer plans; how will you make the most of summer break?!
- Consider your wellness; eat well, sleep well, be well.
Class of 2025 Junior Jumpstart Workshops
Attend Ms. Murphy's workshops to stay informed and confident about your post high school plans. Topics covered include Testing, Exploring Options, Application Process How-To's and Summer Action Steps. All workshops will take place during ALL lunch hours in the CRC.
2024 Career Speaker Series
Register to attend at least one Career Speaker Series in February! Speakers have been invited based on trending career interests of the Class of 2025 and will share insights about career paths and career advice during their visits. Speaker events take each week in February and will be held in the CRC.
