Ripon Cathedral School Update
Week ending Friday 28th February 2020
Pancake fun!
A flipping good time!
Year 5 visit St Peter's in Leeds
After lunch we played a game of quick cricket and learnt about our penpals' families and friends and how their lives are different in a very urban built up city to what it is like in Ripon.
By Robert and Lexi
a big welcome to our new staff
Year 1
In Year 1, we have welcomed Mrs Dulcie Jenkins and Miss Jemima Gurney, who are working with Mrs McIlmurray to support the children in their learning. Miss Gurney is also working with our Ambassadors and Spiritual Council as well as running lunchtime clubs for the children in Oscar's.
Year 3
In Year 3 we have welcomed Mrs Helen Bailey who will be teaching the class through to the end of the summer term. She has enjoyed getting to know the children and is looking forward to taking over from Mrs Moore next week.
Early Years
We have also welcomed Mrs Sarah Gibbs in Reception. She has had a great week exploring dinosaurs with the children. Mrs Gibbs will be teaching the class until our new teacher Mrs Elizabeth Roberts takes up her post as Early Years Leader after Easter.
a big Goodbye to Mrs Bishop and Mrs Moore
Mrs Bishop, our relief midday supervisor, is also saying goodbye to Ripon Cathedral School. Over the last 5 years she has been a wonderful, dependable member of staff who has shown great care to all the children that she has helped and supported over the years.
We wish Mrs Moore and Mrs Bishop all the best for the future.

Children are very welcome to come as a favourite book character to mark World Book Day on Thursday. Alternatively, they could stay in their pyjamas to enjoy 'bedtime stories' during the day! Please make sure the children have coats and sensible shoes so they can play outside during breaks.
We will have a family reading session in the hall after drop off, all are welcome to read with their children.
