Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs Submitted / Closure Edition 3
What about the Office and Campus Closure:
We currently still have staff on campus providing essential services. We are asking everyone to please stay off campus, that includes the playground, during the closure to reduce contact.
Is the playground closed? We have a few students of health care and first responders that are on campus. They are already at risk because of their parents occupation, we don't want them of further risk because we have multiple families using equipment that we need for them during the day.
Childcare for First Responders and Health Care Workers. If you have not been contacted through the survey or by Suzi at the district office, please call her 360-445-5785.
School Lunches: For those that have signed up for school lunch, we have a schedule and are delivering lunches. We are in the process of expanded the service, but it will take us a few days to get it organized. EVERYONE will be contacted about food services again with a survey to see if you need assistance. This next go around all food will be free of charge to all families.
Ongoing Learning:
Our goal for the closure is to provide students with work that will reinforce previous learned materials and to give them skill work while they are at home. We are not worrying about missed assignments at this time. You will get more clarification on Friday from teachers.
All events beyond 4/24/2020, including sports are under review. Once we know more about how long our closures will last we will make decisions on those events.
- Camp Orkila: Still scheduled at this point, but we are in constant contact with the Camp about the possibility of cancelling.
Materials from school:
- K-5 teachers sent home materials with students on Monday. If your child did not come to school Monday or you haven't picked up their materials, they are available TODAY!
- Middle School: All students should have materials and personal item from their lockers that they feel they need to do work at home. Students in Mr. Townsend's classes should ensure they have journals and notebooks. Other classes students will not need specific textbooks or materials other than basic school supplies.
