Jefferson Franklin
Jefferson was the first African American from Georgia to be elected to the United States house of representatives. Jefferson was an American politician from Georgia. Mr.Franklin adressed a gathering of freeman and women In Macon on election day in 1872. In 1867 he became active in Georgia educational association and had traveled through the state on behalf of the Republican party.
