Important Attendance Reminder
As we approach the end of the 1st nine weeks please remember the following regarding attendance:
- Students with more than 10 absences in a semester will not receive credit in the class(es) that they have more than 10 absences in.
- You are not able to take "Virtual days" or "Distance Learning days".
- Medical absences do not count against the 10 absences but you must provide documentation from a physician or licensed counselor.
We have been working hard to notify all students who have had at least 5 absences in the first semester. Please continue to monitor your student's absences and make sure they are at school as much as possible.

Get Registered to Vote!!
In the state of Oklahoma, a person can register to vote at age 17.5 and begin voting at age 18. If you are 17.5 or 18, and need to register to vote, come by Mrs. Auten's room in Annex 201 to get a form. She can also help you fill it out and will even mail it for you! It is super easy and takes little time!
FYI -- It appears as though you can register online through the Oklahoma Election Board, but Mrs. Auten was told the printed form is still necessary at this time.
If you already registered to vote and want to learn where you vote, election dates, what's on a ballot, etc., visit okvoterportal.okelections.us/.
If you have any questions, come visit Mrs. Auten or email her at jillauten@dcsok.org.
Picture Retake Day
Students, picture retake day is on Thursday, October 21 in the student center. If you were absent on picture day, you will take your picture on the 21st. Students will be called down each hour alphabetically by your last name. Retakes are only for students who were absent or who purchased a picture packet and do not like the photos. You must bring the picture packet to the photographer for a retake. This is not a retake because you do not like your picture. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Conley in room 136.
Seniors, if you have not taken your senior gown photo for the yearbook and do not have an upcoming appointment, Thursday the 21st is the last day to get your picture taken. Cameras will be ready by 740 for seniors who cannot make it during the day. The gown will be provided for the picture. You will be called down each hour by your last name. Please see Mrs. Conley in room 136 for any questions.

College Recruiters at the Creek
We have several college and military recruiters coming to Deer Creek this year to meet with students. Most visits will be in the Central Cafeteria. The recruiters will set up a table in the cafeteria and students just need to walk over to the table to talk to them. In some instances, the recruiters have asked for a more intimate visit with students. In that case, students must sign up to attend and will meet for a short presentation about the university. Then, the recruiters will be available to answer student questions. Please sign up using the signup genius link if you are interested in attending.
