Tuesday-"Friendsgiving" at Lunch-prepare your students they will be sitting with other students during lunch. This will be determined as they walk into the cafeteria. We just wanted to give you heads up. Teachers will need to do nothing except give your students a heads up. Teachers might also want to discuss how you will signal your class for dismissal.

Wednesday-"Positive Post-It Day"-There is an information sheet about this below (feel free to put on smartboard to use with students) and a short video (for staff only to know the history of it if curious). Regular classroom teachers if you need post it notes please see Sandy.

Problem Solving Team

Our second round of Problem Solving Team is quickly approaching. There have been some date changes due to NYTC Visits overlapping previously scheduled PST Dates.

Data Due: Friday, Nov. 13th (end of day)

K-2 PST Meetings: Monday, Nov. 16th in collaboration room

3-5 PST Meetings: Monday, Nov. 23rd in collaboration room

If you need help on how to update, please see the Livebinder.

Few Tips:

  • Make sure you are on the Nov. 2015 tab on your sheet.
  • You can always copy data from 1st tab and paste it. Then make changes to those things that changed.
  • Remember Title teachers will be adding their information to your sheets too.

Extra Recess Reminders

If you are taking an extra recess, you must actively supervise your students. Active supervision means teachers should be spread out around the recess area. Grade level teachers should not all be standing together. Teachers need to be in close proximity in case an issue arises.

It is also critical that teachers with the walkie talkie are actively listening for recess to be called on the walkie.

Document Cameras

We have been approached by several teachers requesting document cameras. We would like to begin gathering information about the document cameras we currently have. We will also be wanting to know who still needs a document camera. We are asking that all certified staff please submit the Google Form below.

Please submit your information by Friday, Nov. 20th.

Student Growth Assessment Update

The mid-year Student Growth Assessment Window is November 16- December 4. This should give teachers a 2 week window to get the assessment completed. Grades should be entered into SISK12 by December 11.

Please make note the following points about entering student growth assessment scores into SISK12:

1. Do NOT enter student scores in one by one individually. Make sure to only enter growth scores in using the roster screen, as described on the Frequently Asked Questions document.

2. Only enter numeric data into the SGA test scores in SISK12. (Do not put excused, absent, ex, a, or any text. If a student is absent or is exempt from taking the student growth assessment, please leave the spot blank in SISK12.)

3. Do not use decimals when entering grades into SISK12. The growth scores must be entered in as whole numbers. If there is a case where a fraction of points is given, round the number of points up to the next highest grade.
