Cullman County Farm-City Tour
Agriculture: Stewards of a Healthy Planet
Come join us on October 27th for a tour of a special community - Cullman County
The message our local Farm City Committee wants to communicate through this tour is a greater understanding of how food, fiber and renewable resource products are made, and through that understanding, build a growing appreciation for the contributions of Cullman County forestry and agriculture as a:
• source for safe, abundant and affordable products
• positive force in the local, national and global economy
• vital part of meeting the growing global challenge of hunger
Farm-City Tour
The day will start with a stop at Goat Island Brewery followed by a tour of the Drummond-Sparks Beef Cattle operation. We will head over to Camp Meadowbrook’s beautiful new facility for lunch and a tour of the Soil and Water Conservation’s “agritainment” trailer they are using to teach school children the value of conservation and agriculture. Our last stop will be Simcoe Wood Products to tour their facility.
If you want to attend contact Ashley Graves at the Cullman County Economic Development office. Her phone number is 256-775-4696 or email her at agraves@co.cullman.al.us . Seating is limited and there is a charge for lunch ($11). Please let her know of any dietary restrictions you may have.
