Dewing School Happenings
This week, we celebrate all we are thankful for. Mrs. Gerrish and I are incredibly grateful for all of our staff. They have worked tirelessly to support our return to school. We are grateful for each and every student. They have worked so hard to adapt to the changes this school year and they do it with such energy, it makes us smile every day. We are also incredibly grateful for our families. We know how hard you are working and we thank you for the support you have provided. This is truly a year to be thankful for all we have. We couldn't do it without each and every one of you.
Today, we celebrated during our morning announcements with the Turkey Hokey Pokey. Thank you for sending in photos! I have added some to this newsletter.
We wish you all a restful holiday filled with many smiles and happy memories.
Mrs. Gerrish and Mrs Bosworth

Dewing School Giving Tree-Please see the following information from Mr. Waldron
It is time to start thinking about the Dewing “Dew-Gooders” Giving Tree for the Holiday Season. We are always excited for this time of year and all the good our school does for others. Our tree benefits families in our local communities. This year we will be helping out a great organization.
We will be working with The Wish Project in Chelmsford to help clothe and care for kids in need. We will be collecting new clothing, toiletries, school supplies, and undergarments for all children sizes Newborn-18.
If you are able and willing to donate a gift, our “Dew-Gooders” will be working out the details and get more information to you soon. We are also willing to accept gift cards or monetary donations which will help our elves purchase items.
If you are looking for assistance this holiday season, please email me,
swaldron@tewksbury.k12.ma.us by 12/2, with your child’s wish list of 3 items. Please keep these items under $50.00 each. This year we are also going to try and supply families with winter jackets, snow pants, hats and gloves so please include sizes.
If you have any questions feel free to reach out to our PAC (lfdewingpac@gmail.com) or School Counselor Sean (swaldron@tewksbury.k12.ma.us).
Thank you!

Important Health and Travel Information
IMPORTANT: The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) has mandated that all students receive the flu vaccine this year by December 31st. Please send to school the documentation that states that your child has received this vaccine. This mandate also applies to remote learners as well.
Tewksbury Public Schools are following all of the Department of Public Health Guidelines regarding travel outside of Massachusetts. If for any reason your Dewing School student has to travel to a high risk state, you must follow the guidelines for testing and quarantine. This is to ensure the health and safety of all Dewing School students and staff. The states that are determined to be low risk can change weekly so you need to keep that in mind in when traveling. These guidelines are located on the Massachusetts DPH COVID -19 website and the low risk states are listed on the link below:

Visitors to the Dewing/Late arrivals/Nurse Dismissals
Late Arrivals-If your child is dropped off to school after 8:45, you must park in an assigned parking spot (not the bus drop off lane) and walk your child to the door. Please ring the bell and wait for a staff member to greet your child in person.
Nurse Dismissals-If your child is dismissed by the nurse, the dismissal area is now through the gym door (last door, closest to the C-wing). The gym is located on the right side of the building as you are facing the building. This is also the parent drop off area. You must call the nurse from your car to inform her of your arrival 97-640-7858 x303
We know that these procedures are different from other years and we appreciate your adherence to them. Every change we make is done to support the health and safety of our community. Thank you.
Should your child be dismissed for school, due to illness, you will receive the following notice.
