A Message from the Principal
Dear Sheridan families,
Wow, what a wonderful week! Our staff can’t thank the Sheridan family community enough for all of the special events this week. Every day was an absolute hit! We know this is a highly-coordinated effort and relies on donations to make it happen. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the delicious snacks, Starbucks delivery, taco lunch, raffle prizes, “shout outs”, chalked messages, and sweet treats! To end the week with a gift was icing on the cake! Our sincere gratitude to the APT committee and all the parents who contributed. 🥰
Speaking of contributions, the APT Food Drive was a tremendous success! Sheridan families are always so generous. You donated 991 items - fantastic! Our little school donated THE MOST! Congratulations to KINDERGARTEN for bringing in the most food. They are the winners of a Popsicle & Piñata Party from the APT! Stay tuned for more information on the festivities. Special recognition to the APT committee who were so supportive throughout the week!
We’ve had several inquiries about links to the Spring Music Show recordings. See the links below to relive the sweet sounds:
- 10:30 am Show – Gr 1/4/Orchestra: https://youtu.be/g1gCkvtHEN8
- 1:30 pm Show – Gr Kindergarten/2/3: https://youtu.be/ofEWLaUlTvU
Finally… today was EXPLORATION DAY. Wow, wow, wow! What a fabulous event! The range of experiences and assembled presenter brainpower was truly awe-inspiring. Where else could you practice Irish Dancing, play Lake Forest trivia with the City Manager and Fire Chief, meet Stella the Sloth and then make Ice Cream in a Bag??? Only at Sheridan with our fabulous parents and connections! This is always a favorite day for our students. We were even able to have the preschoolers participate in some events! We love seeing them explore new interests and witness all of the adults sharing their passions. THANK YOU! A special shout out to Veronica DeNicolo and her team for all of the coordination!
Attention 4th Grade Parents: Welcome To The Deer Path BOC Department!
In the 5th grade your child has the opportunity to be part of one of our great performing groups at Deer Path. We are a recipient of the 2023 National Association of Music Best Communities for Music Education for our extensive music programs in District 67.
The BOC (Band, Orchestra, Choir) ensembles have been to each of the elementary schools and showcased which instruments/ensembles are available in 5th grade.
Please take a moment to look over what is offered. We look forward to seeing your child make great music at Deer Path. Participation in band, orchestra or choir is not required, but is a great way for your child to make new friends and enjoy making music with a group of students. We strongly recommend giving it a try!
Even if your child does not currently know what they would like to play please sign up and we will reach out individually to you soon.
We are asking for you to register as soon as possible by using QR code below or use this link to the form.
