On September 17, one of the worst earthquakes in years hit Pakistan. With a magnitude of 7.7, it was almost impossible to search all the affected area. It was estimated at 300 people killed in total and many more injured. The official count was 348 dead. This horrific event affected a wide range of people including 15 children, while attending religious school. 1,000 troops and 200 doctors were sent to Pakistan aid the injured. The earthquake caused a lot of hazardous chemicals to be released that prevented people from visiting the island and killed hundreds of fish.
