Term 4 Week 7
Kia ora
We have several events that happen over the following few weeks that are different to our usual routine. At other times we aim to keep the days at school as consistent as possible for the children so will continue with our usual teaching and learning sessions as much as possible.
We are pleased to have welcomed Isla to our Uenuku whānau.
Education Outside The Classroom (EOTC) Week
Monday 5 Dec : Outdoor Classroom Day OR Activity rotation in the hall (baking, crafts etc)
Tuesday 6 Dec : Wheels Day OR Music Making
Wednesday 7 Dec : Festive Fun (Last swimming PM)
Thursday 8 Dec : Gully Walk OR Science activities/experiments
Friday 9 Dec : Teddy Bears Picnic and Pyjama Dress Up Day
We will need parent volunteers to assist on Monday and Thursday of this week. A separate notice will come home for you to give permission for your child to go on the Gully Walk and to let us know if you are able to help on either of the days mentioned. Please look out for this in your child's book bag.
Swimming - last session in week 8
Health Education Lessons
Hats, sunblock, water bottles and clothing.
Looking ahead to the warmer weather, please remember to apply sunblock to your child before school. We have bottles of sunblock in class for the children to apply before lunch time. Alternatively, you are welcome to send your own sunblock with your child if you prefer. Please name this clearly.
We ensure that the children drink water throughout the day, every day. Please make sure that your child has a named water bottle with them every day. Thank you.
With our typical changeable Wellington weather we are experiencing warm, cool, wet and dry days. It's helpful if your child has a warm jersey and raincoat even if the day seems sunny, and perhaps wears layers that they are able to put on and remove as the temperature changes during the day. Many thanks.
Daily reminders
- Classrooms open at 8:30am. Prior to this teachers may be in meetings or busy preparing for the day and are not available to supervise the children.
- Please provide a change of clothes in your child's bag, just in case of accidents.
- Please check your child's school bag each day - they may have a new reading book in their book bag, a notice, or have some of their wonderful creations to share. Wet/dirty clothes might be a possibility too!
