March 2019

Teen Book Con

We took 19 kids to attend Teen Book Con on Saturday, March 30th. The kids met Veronica Roth, the author of Divergent, Makiia Lucier, the author of Isle of Blood and Stone, and Angie Thomas, the author of The Hate You Give, among 21 other authors.

We were fortunate to receive a bus grant from Bloomsbury Publishers and free arcs for each student!

The kids ate at food trucks for lunch as a reward for reading a book from a Teen Book Con Author.

The most checked out title for the month is Warcross by Marie Lu.

For the millions who log in every day, Warcross isn't just a game it is a way of life. The obsession started ten years ago and its fan base now spans the globe, some eager to escape from reality and hoping to make a profit.
