Depression
Depression is a mental condition that causes sadness, hopelessness, and despair, it also affects the body's ability to function correctly. This illness affects many adults and teenagers of all ages. There may be events that occur to cause this illness or it will happen suddenly.
Suicide
Suicide is an act of self harm to intentionally cause ones own death. This occurs when a person is severely depressed or feeling hopeless. In 2013, 41,149 suicides were reported, which means a person committed suicide every 12 minutes. Causing the 10th leading cause of dead in the Americas
Signs / Symptoms
Signs / Symptoms of Depression
Signs / Symptoms of Depression include feelings of guilt, hopelessness, worthlessness, difficultly concentrating, remembering details, and making decisions.
Warning Signs of Suicide
Warning signs of Suicide include changing eating patterns, risk taking behavior, loss of interest in activities that uses to be enjoyed, increasing use of alcohol or drugs, sleeping too much or too little, feeling isolated and displaying extreme mood swings.
Signs of Self Injury
Signs of Self Injury include one hiding body with extreme amount of clothing, often making excuses, cutting, burning, scratching, hitting, bruising, pulling hair, and biting
