Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Scholarship (Apply through Going Merry website)

  • Deadline is January 8, 2021
  • (20) scholarships up to $25,000. The Foot Locker Scholar Athletes program honors student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional academic ability and strong leadership skills in sports, in their schools, and within their communities.

John F Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest

  • Deadline is Jan 15, 2021
    • (17) awards up to $10,000. Write an original essay (700-1000 words) describing and analyzing an act of political courage by a US elected official serving after 1917.

1 for 2 Education Foundation Scholarship (Apply through Going Merry)

  • Deadline is Feb 15, 2021
  • (10) Scholarships up to $25,000. Participate in 1 for 2 Foundation's Annual Gathering (Expense Paid trip) and agree to give 2 people (not related to you) scholarships equal to your award in your lifetime.

MN State Horticultural Society Scholarship is offered to students with interest and participation in horticultural/gardening activities.

Aging Matters Scholarship

    • (1) $1500 Scholarship. Write an essay about why aging matters to you.

Seniors can apply for $4000 scholarships ($1000 renewable for 4 years)

Dates to apply: Jan 1, 2021 until deadline of Jan 31, 2021

Parent/Guardian must be a member of Lake Country Power; GPA 2.5 or higher. Essay and 2 letters of recommendation required.

STORY2 - Help for Essay Writing

Story2 is a tool for improving writing skills and writing essays. The FREE version includes writing prompts, Personal statement and story builder, writing scholarship and admissions essays. There are paid versions from $10/year and up that will allow you to work with a coach to give you feed back on your writing.

  • Blandin Foundation Education Grants

    Grants are funds that do not need to be paid back and are based on family income. Many students may qualify for some grant money, even with higher income. Funding is available each year student is in higher education.

    Deadline to apply is March 1, 2021

    • Renewable scholarship for full tuition (around $5500/year). ACT 28+ and GPA 3.8+ OR in top 10% of class. Must maintain a 3.2 first year to be eligible for scholarship 2nd year.
