September 29 - Standards and Assessment Day - No school for students

A few reminders for families

  • If your student has medication needs during the school day, an adult is required to bring in the medication in the original container. Students may not transport medication themselves.
  • Bus riders, please be outside and ready for the bus ten minutes prior to pick up time. Delays in arrival home should be expected for the first few weeks.
  • If your student plans to ride home on a different bus, please send a note with your student. The note must be turned in at the front office for approval.
  • Please make sure your student has money deposited in their lunch account. Free and reduced applications are available online or in our office. Breakfast is free for all students.
  • Students are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottle and a snack to school each day.
  • School supplies will be provided to students the first week of school.

Picture Day - September 22nd

All students will have their school picture taken on Friday, September 22nd.


Families have the opportunity to purchase a variety of items from Lifetouch. Picture packets will be sent home this week so please be sure to ask your student for them!

Looking for Donations for PAWS Store

Our students have been earning lots of PAWS and look forward to spending them at our PAWS store during lunches. We are looking for donations to help us supply the store throughout the year.


If you are able, please purchase any of the items below and drop them by the office:


  • Goldfish - individual bags
  • Gatorade - small size
  • Smarties
  • Croc Charms
  • Granola bars
  • Jolly ranchers
  • Small chocolates (kisses)
  • Takis - individual bags

Barlow Football Games and More

Reminder for attending Gresham-Barlow High School Sporting Events

Middle School students must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult in order to attend all Gresham-Barlow High School athletics events, especially football games. Unattended students will not be allowed into the games. Barlow Youth Football players must enter with their coaches, keep their uniforms on for the entire game and sit with their coaches. Any student not holding a high school ID will be turned away at the gate if they are not with a parent.


Also, no bikes, skateboards, balls, backpacks or outside food and beverages will be allowed into the stadium.

Open House - September 17th

MESD will be holding in-person and virtual Open Houses for each of the ODS sites. Parents are encouraged to attend to learn. more about the camping experience and get questions answered.

Health Guidelines and Reminders

We have been getting questions from families regarding Covid protocols for the 2023-24 school year. Last spring the guidelines changed including the elimination of a quarantine period. Students who test positive for Covid need to stay home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without taking a fever-reducing medication and their symptoms are improving. See the chart below for guidance on when to keep your student home.

Lunch Account Information

We continue to use Mealtime for lunch accounts. Families need to deposit money online for students to be able to purchase hot lunches. We don't want any of our students going hungry!


You can find more information, including a QR Code for easy access to the Mealtime portal, by following this link: Mealtime
