April 2021

Dear Westview Famlies,

As rough as the past few months have been with the the weather being not so pretty, we have a lot to celebrate. First of all, we have completed our first round of standardized testing. All of our third grade students completed the IREAD3 Assessment. Secondly, we became the top chocolate sales school in the district. Our students sold 196 boxes this year which was about 26 more boxes than last year. We have also held a virtual concert. It was the first ever and Ms. Bartlemay knocked it out of the park. I always like hearing from the Civic Center that our students were some of the best behaved and most respectful students they have seen this year. Finally, once the weather cooperates, we will begin construction of our very own Gaga pit. We will be getting a lot of help from the construction trades classes at the high school for this. We are so excited about all of this!! The following is a list of events we have coming up:

  • Progress Reports for the 5th six weeks will be coming home with students on Tuesday, April 20th.

  • All students can continue to receive an evening "supper" meal to take home. Please let your child's teacher know if you want your child to participate. The menus can be found here!

  • The ILEARN window for 3rd and 4th grade students is April 19th - May 14th. Please check out these resources from the Indiana Department of Education to assist parents in helping to prepare their child for ILEARN.

  • Save the date for Pre K/K Roundup! Thursday, April 22nd. 3:30-6:30.

  • The Boston Run will be held virtually this year on May 13th. May 14th will be the rain date.

  • The last day of school for students is May 27th.

Please let me know how I can continue to serve you in the days and weeks to come.
