STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Champions!🏆
Congratulations to our FMS eSports team, Mr. Costello, and Mr. Lee! #ehtpride #seastheday
Our kids came home with one state championship out of two. Both teams played incredibly well and we represented EHT in the best possible light. Our kids made us proud!
All South Jersey Junior High Chorus
Congratulations to Fernwood 7th grader Shane Golley on being accepted to the Tenor section of the All South Jersey Junior High Chorus! He will rehearse and perform with the Chorus in January along with other top 7th-12th grade singers from across southern New Jersey. We're so proud of you, Shane!
Fernando Botero
Students in Mrs. Dilks, 8th grade Spanish and Hispanohablantes classes learned about Colombian painter and sculptor Fernando Botero. They read his biography, made oral presenattions and learn about his very distinct art style. Afterwards they enthusiastically created their own Botero inspired paintings and the results were fantastic.
Transformations in Geometry
Mrs. Hrabal's Geometry students learned about different types of transformations. They rotated trapezoids on a coordinate plane, cut out the pieces and taped them together to make a hologram viewer!
The Solar System in Spanish
6th graders represented our Solar System, naming each planet in Spanish. They had so much fun!
Thanksgiving Lab
Students on the teal team participated in a Thanksgiving Lab where they applied what they learned about physical and chemical changes in matter and made pumpkin pie in a bag. It was a super fun and delicious lab!

Family Feud
This year, the 8th Grade School Counselor, Mrs. Mento, will be conducting a social skills game of “Family Feud” with all 8th grade students. The game will be held every month in each Pod’s Social Studies class. For the month of November, the topic is “Anger Management.” Mrs. Mento will meet with Mr. Komack’s classes on 11/16; Mr. Hammond’s classes on 11/22; and Mr. McAlister’s classes on 11/30. Let the games begin!
Guidance Lessons in Grade 7
Our Fernwood 7th graders were presented with lessons from our counselor, Mrs. Errickson, and our AtlantiCare Specialist, Mrs. Cheeseman. We discussed many topics facing our students today, such as conflict resolution, empathy, and the importance of connections to one another. The students enjoyed the time spent together, including discussion, games, and an art project, while learning valuable social skills!
