Important Dates
NOVEMBER DATES
- 11-1-22 CTs approve candidate weeks 9 and 10 attendance on Taskstream if not yet completed
- 11-3-2022 Candidates were invited to attend a free PD focused on supporting students identified as gifted and talented- 5:30-7:30 PM in 494 Allyn Hall
- 11-7-2022 OPFE Crayons to Classrooms School Supply Drive begins. Donations will be accepted through 12-9-2022.
- 11-11-2022 WSU Closed for Veterans' Day (Phase 3 follow assigned school schedule)
- 11-14-2022 CTs approve candidate weeks 11 and 12 attendance on Taskstream
- Supervisors must complete second informal observation before 11-11-22. We encourage candidates to plan and teach a brief lesson, or part of a lesson, to a small or large group if at all possible.
FOR Phase 2, Phase 2YL and Phase 3 Only
- By 11-11-2022 CTs must complete formal lesson assessment on Taskstream. Your candidate MUST upload a lesson plan for you to see this.
- By 11-11-2022 Supervisors will complete final formal observation of candidate- lesson plan and video must be submitted via GoReact
DECEMBER DATES
- Before 12-2-22 Meet with University Supervisor to complete all final term assessments; Phase 3 CTs are encouraged to view this CPAST overview first: https://youtu.be/S9wRLmWpho0
- 12-2-2022 Last day for teacher candidates, unless make up time is needed; only Phase 2 Yearlong Candidates return on 12-12-22 to begin phase 3 and attend full time
- 12-5-2022 CTs approve all remaining attendance logs on Taskstream
- 12-5-2022 to 12-9-2022 WSU Finals Week; some candidates may need to attend to make-up missed placement time.
- 12-12-2022 LAST DAY TO SUBMIT ALL CT TASKSTREAM RESPONSIBILITIES
Final Assessment Meetings
1. How well did your candidate perform the midterm goals that were set?
2. How has your candidate grown and developed during this time with you?
3. Is your candidate ready for the next phase of field experience or career? How do you know?
4. If you have a yearlong candidate, are you ready to offer your candidate more opportunities to plan, implement, organize, and assess instruction? Are they ready to take on this additional responsibility? See a possible phase 3 timeline here.

Cooperating Teacher Recruitment: Spring 23
"Call for Proposals" for the 11th Annual WSU Learn Local Conference
We invite local educators, school counselors, students, administrators, and community members working in the context of P-12 education to submit a presentation proposal for the 2023 WSU Learn Local Conference.
- This year's theme is Supporting the Whole Child.
- The conference offers a welcoming environment to share ideas, lessons, and knowledge of best practices.
- Sessions are 45 minutes in length; interaction, discussion, and tangible takeaways for attendees are encouraged.
- Presenters receive certificates for ten clock hours of professional development.
Proposals due: November 15, 2022
Accepted proposals announced: December 15, 2022
