A Message from the Principal
Lauren Meeks
February 8, 2019
Dear Parents,
We have so many exciting things happening at Parkside. Our Parkside Leaders are kicking off a student initiated "Give Back" to the community project. Our Parkside Leaders were recently told about how Ronald McDonald House collects tabs from the tops of aluminum cans for recycling to purchase certain small "household" things they need for the families that stay there. This is a great opportunity to get our WHOLE campus and community involved in the Scholarly Trait of "Giving Back." The class that collects the most tabs will be rewarded with extra recess. So get those tabs in!
Scholastic Books has awarded Parkside with the President's Award of Excellence in Volunteering for our fall book fair. Thank you to our wonderful PTA volunteers for organizing such a successful book fair. This will be announced on the Scholastic Books' website Monday, and we will receive 500 Scholastic Dollars to use for the library. We always look forward to our book fairs each year!
Our morning carpool drop off procedures are running more smoothly. We are continuing our efforts to make our drop off process run more smoothly. Thank you for working with us in following all safety procedures!
Again, we ask that you please use 2nd-5th grade Parent Drop off near the portables for dropping off students who are in 2nd-5th grade, and not the front of the school. This will allow for our K-1 parents to use this area for dropping off their little ones. Kinder and first grade should use the K-1 Parent Drop off.
Thank you for working with us to ensure our kids get to school safely!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Eric, Maggie, and Marianne
