The Motherboard and The CPU
The Components
The Motherboard is the component that connects all the individual parts of the computer together to make a working computer. It does this by letting all the components communicate with each other.
The CPU (Central Processing Unit) is the circuitry inside the computer that runs a program on a computer. It does this by performing three steps called: Fetch, Decode and Execute. Fetch is where the CPU retrieves an instruction. Decode is where the CPU breaks up the parts into portions which are significant to other parts of the computer. Execute is where the CPU performs either one action or a series of actions and the CPU is electrically connected so they can perform all or part of the desired instruction.
