Kerby Kudos
- Kudos to all of our Kerby staff who have worked so hard to keep the focus on learning this holiday season. As I spend time visiting classrooms to observe teaching and learning I have seen teachers creating a cozy atmosphere with video fireplaces and classical music. I have seen students engaged in project based learning where they share their own holiday traditions with their peers. I have also seen an emphasis on kindness and giving. Teachers matters more to student achievement than any other school indicator and our Kerby educators are top notch!

LEADER IN ME
The end of the year and beginning of a new year is a natural time to begin setting goals and reflecting on previous goals set. While setting a goal might be different from making a resolution; asking your children "What do we want to do and enjoy this year?" is a question that will get everyone thinking! When your family gathers to discuss their goals and ambitions you might have post-it notes, brightly colored pens, and a family calendar available so you can put first-things-first. Separate your goals by individual or family, use the sticky notes to brainstorm all the big ideas and find a space where you can keep your goals visible. What a fun way to ring in the new year!

TIP: When packing a lunch, send the food in an insulated lunch box. Your child can bring home any uneaten food to consume later.
