BCIT Medford Newsletter
October 2015
The 2015-16 school year is in full swing as we have put September in the books. The month of October will have a packed schedule as there are some very important activities taking place. BCIT will offer the PSAT as a building on Oct. 14th for all juniors that are interested along with select sophomores.
Due to the building wide PSAT testing, the school calendar was adjusted as October 7th will now be a full day and October 14th will be a half day to accommodate the PSAT.
The BCIT guidance department has coordinated the fall College Fair for our students on October 29th. The college fair will allow students during their lunch period to visit nearly 20 colleges and post secondary institutions.
Be sure to share with friends and families of middle school aged students the annual BCIT Discovery Night on October 22nd. This is an opportunity for students to see first hand the CTE opportunities that are available to county residents.
The BCIT Medford family hopes that everyone had a great opening to school and to always feel free to contact the school if you have any questions.

Policy Review: 5516- Use of Electronic Communication and Recording Devices (ECRD) (M)
The Board of Education believes students and/or school staff members should not be subject to having a video or audio recording taken of any student(s) or school staff member(s) for any purpose without the consent of the student, the student’s parent or guardian, and/or the school staff member. In addition to protecting the privacy rights of students and school staff members, the Board recognizes such recordings can be disruptive to the educational program. In addition, inappropriate recordings of educational material, student assessment instruments, and/or student assessment reviews can be used to compromise the integrity of the district’s educational program or lead to academic dishonesty in the event such recordings are stored and/or transmitted to other students. Therefore, the Board of Education adopts this Policy regarding student use of electronic communication and recording devices.
