PK/K/5th Grade Graduation Information

Great News!

We are celebrating in a sweet way!

PK/K Teachers created an invitation for outdoor graduation at CCE on May 19th starting at 5:00 PM; look for your invitation including details about the event from your child's teacher.

Way to Go, PTA: Our wonderful PTA is supporting this graduation ceremony by providing PK/K Graduation yard signs for each student. Thank you, CCE PTA, for attending graduation night and handing those items out at that time!

5th:

EOY Ceremony during Specials on 5/26; Parents please check your email for a special notice that has been arranged by our 5th Grade Teachers on 5/26.

This year we are beginning a new tradition at CCE! All 5th-grade students will be taking home a ceiling tile to decorate! This will allow students who wish to leave their "print" at our school to show off their artistry and leave their legacy at CCE. Tiles will then be displayed in our cafeteria ceiling for future classes and students to enjoy them!

Way to Go, PTA: Our wonderful PTA is supporting this graduation ceremony by providing 5th Grade Graduation yard signs for each student & 5th Grade Class Shirt for each student. Thank you, CCE PTA!

We have finalized the 4th 9 Weeks/EOY awards ceremonies. We have designated May 26th for grades 1-5 for all EOY awards and Hippo Way Awards. Although our campus is still closed to visitors, we will be streaming the event from our gym via our Facebook Page that day! Please join us there to view the event!

Please note the end of year award times below. Thank you for being flexible and patient as we do our best to stay on track with time. Gracias!

All virtual students will be receiving their certificates through USPS or from their virtual teacher; in-person students will take certificates home that day. The HippoWay Awards will be presented in conjunction with the end-of-year awards for students in 1st-5th with a modified presentation of the award descriptor announced. Unfortunately, Humberto our Hippo is already on Summer Break and will not join us this day! But I am excited to support and honor our students with all awards!

Amidst a bombed-out city still feeling the aftershocks of war, the rebellious and intense Antigone defies her uncle to bury her disgraced brother. The play brings powerful, modern prose to an ancient and universal story & reminds us that what's legal isn't always right and what's right isn't always legal.

Reminders from our front office:

* Daily Early Student Pick-Ups need to occur before 2 PM; For Early Release Days pick-ups before 11 AM only. This ensures our dismissal process runs smoothly, thank you! Remember that any early pick-ups, for reasons not excused, count as a partial day absence. Avoid truancy issues and plan for pickups after school hours.

* All Elementary Campuses are not accepting outside deliveries for staff and students i.e. lunch boxes, birthday items, snacks, backpacks, donations, flowers/gifts for teachers. Our goal is to practice social distancing and health guidelines and avoid unnecessary exposure to our staff and students.

*If you have a doctor's appointment and need to pick up your child, call the school office to notify them that you will be visiting, drive around the loop of the school and park in the front parking lot, walk up to the front entrance and ring the doorbell to the right on the wall, have your identification ready to show and we will call for your student and escort them to you outside. The office staff will sign them out and then back in when they return.

* Make sure students arrive on time each day, school begins at 7:40. Each day that a student is tardy equals cumulative learning experiences that are missed in the classroom. Students often feel stressed when they don't know what they have missed when they are late, let's help them be successful by getting them to school on time.

* Campuses are still closed to visitors at this time, thank you for supporting us in a million other ways as we hope to get back to a semi-normal visitor policy soon!
