The Power of Passion
Happy Monday everyone!
Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of a man who lived to give—Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He was a selfless man who led with compassion and hope, and who bestowed upon our country the gift of his extraordinary example—teachings of justice, determination, non-violence, humility, grace, love and courage. Despite the many hardships he faced, he persisted with unwavering commitment and remains one of the most incredible leaders our country has had the pleasure of knowing.
So for today, I don’t see the need to write much. Remembering Dr. King and his story is motivation enough to be a better person and to lead a better life. Additionally, when you have the following quotes to reflect on, not much more needs to be said.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.
Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.
I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.
Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?
The time is always right to do what is right.
We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.
Dr. King, we thank you for your powerful words and remember you today and always!
In good health and much gratitude,
Meg
