Loma Ridge Report

A Weekly Newsletter From Mrs. Berumen

Happy Holidays!

We want to wish you, our incredible Loma Ridge community, very happy holidays! 2020 has been a challenging year for all of us with the pandemic, EDL, wildfire evacuations and the list goes on! We can't thank you enough for your support through it all. We are truly grateful for the privilege to work with your children everyday and look forward to the return to normalcy that we anticipate in the future. In the meantime, please enjoy the winter break with your families and stay well. We'll see you in 2021!

Congratulations, Reflections Participants!

We would like to congratulate each and every one of the students that participated in this year’s Reflections theme, "I Matter Because….". Your creativity and immense effort during this challenging year has truly been an inspiration to all of us. We would like to thank parents for your effort and for encouraging your children to participate.

We are pleased to announce that we had four 1st place submissions advance to Irvine Unified Council PTA and one submission advance to Fourth District PTA. We will be awarding Certificates the first week of January. More details will be provided in early January. Thank you once again for all your support and effort!

PTA Sponsored Clothing Drive

Please join our Loma Ridge PTA by participating in our Winter Clothing Drive scheduled for January 11th-15th, 2021. It’s that time of the year when our families get new clothes and if you are wondering what to do with your gently used/new clothes, (or maybe that new sweater you didn’t like,) donating to our winter clothing drive is a great opportunity to join us in helping families in need during these difficult times. More details to come in the next Loma Ridge Report.

*Appropriate measures will be taken to minimize the spread of Covid-19

Roadrunner Staff Spotlight

Hi everyone! I am Miss Bates. This is my second year teaching third grade at Loma Ridge Elementary. I grew up in Mission Viejo and attended UC San Diego where I majored in Communications and Business. Later, I attended UC Irvine where I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching, along with my Teaching Credential. When I am not at Loma Ridge you can find me practicing yoga, hiking, running the trails of Laguna Beach, or playing beach volleyball. I played intercollegiate volleyball at UCSD and I am also a certified yoga instructor. I am hoping to get back to teaching yoga in the studio soon! One of the best parts of my job is being able to integrate mindfulness practices I have learned from my yoga practice into my classroom. I absolutely love teaching at Loma and being a part of the incredible community!
