Immigration Issues

Bernie Sanders Vs. Donald Trump

Views on Immigrations

Donald and Bernie are two very different candidates and they do not meet eye to eye on any issue. One Issues that stands out for the both of them quite a lot is Immigration.

Donald Trump has been known for his views on immigration and unfortunately this is what has made him so popular. In numerous speeches he has addressed the issue of immigration as a major problem for the US and has gone as far as to say that all hispanics and immigrants are thief's, rapist, and murderers. He has stereotypes and used racist remarks and comments against hispanics for the simple reason that he does not agree with immigration. He suggest that the best way to solve the problem is to rid of all illegal immigrants and deport them all from their home countries and finally build a wall that will prevent anyone from ever entering the country illegally. He has said "We need strong borders. We need a wall" (CBS News on 2015 Conservative Political Action Conference).

Bernie Sanders on the other hand, has very different views on the matter and has very strong disagreements with Trump. Bernie has said "We are a nation of immigrants. I am the son of an immigrant myself.... The story of immigrants is the story of America, a story rooted in family and fueled by hope. It continues today in families all across the United States" (Bernie Sanders addresses the issue of immigration). He is on the opposite side of Trump in the political spectrum and has views of his own on every issue. He can relate to immigration because he himself comes from a family of immigrants. He wants everyone to have an equal opportunity to live in the US and live the American dream.

Marxist Criticism on Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders

Donald and Bernie both come from very different social backgrounds and that is where they get their different views on the same issues such as immigration. Donald Trump is and has always been a very wealthy man. He grew up in a wealthy family so he has always been surrounded by money. Trump represents the Upper class and his viewpoints are those of a person who has had it all. His values are all about money and making the economy for the country better. He in no way has any form of relations with the lower class. He may strongly disagree with illegal immigration but he could never know what it is like to be an immigrant. He does not know what it's like to be in the working class and having to work and do anything possible to support your family that may or may not be with you. His views on immigration aren't necessarily accurate because he would never know what its like to be an immigrant. However Bernie has different perspective on the matter. Bernie comes from a lower, working class family and his family was immigrants themselves so he knows exactly what being part of an immigrant family is like. It's not easy and he surely worked really hard throughout his life in oder to get to where he is now. His values come from a lower class and he is able to better understand immigration issues rather than Trump. This is al due to the fact that they come from different classes.
