Walker Bulldog News
October 16, 2020
Dear Families,
Albert Camus, a famous writer, once said, "Autumn is a second spring, when every leaf is a flower." As we notice the leaves changing colors, appreciate the beauty all around us. It is the simplicity of nature's beauty, that can turn a mundane walk around the neighborhood into an extraordinary experience, when we pause to embrace the moment. Take some time to enjoy the outdoors as it helps to clear our minds and allows us to relax.
This week our students became more aware of their personal creativity and celebrated their abilities through daily drawing exercises. Many of our students were proud of their end projects; be sure to ask your child to share their artwork with you. Academically, students are making outstanding progress on the priority learning standards for each grade level. We see their growth in many ways each day, and we are proud of their efforts!
October 26-October 30 will be our first spirit week of the year. Staff and students will show their Bulldog pride daily with fun themed dress days. We look forward to seeing everyone's creative attire.
All the best,
Ms. Venegonia, Principal
Mrs. Leone, Associate Principal
Compound Words
Second graders in Mrs. Suhail's class are busy learning about compound words. Students learned how they are formed and how to determine the meaning of the word. They are working to expand their word knowledge.
Creative Drawing
Mrs. Morales and her class enjoyed the drawing activities this week during our virtual announcements. Do we have the next Van Gough in our kindergarten?
Third Grade Multiplication
Our third graders in Mrs. Mankze and Mrs, Piekos' classes are working hard to master their multiplication facts. Students practice this in many ways from Seesaw activities to white board practice to Reflex. Keep up the good work, students!
