What is saturated fats?
Saturated fatty acids are fats that appear to raise the level of LDL cholesterol (which is the bad cholesterol) in the bloodstream. To the right the picture shows benefits of certain kinds of saturated fats and then the harmful kinds of saturated fats. They help provide energy and cushion for your kidneys.
Where are saturated fats found?
Foods relatively high in saturated fatty acids include meat, poultry skin, whole-milk dairy products, and the tropical oils. Some specific examples that are contain large amounts of saturated fats are things like butter, lard, high in fat dairy products, high fat meals, palm kernel, coconut oil, and etc. The highest amount of saturated fats usually animal-based.
