HARASSMENT FREE SCHOOLS
It is the policy of the Paulding County Board of Education to maintain a learning environment that is free from any harassment. We do not feel that any student should engage in harassment, intimidation, or abuse of or toward any other student(s), District employees, or other adults for any reason. More specifically, no student should be harassed, intimidated or abused based on actual or perceived race,
creed, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or a physical characteristic.
Our District promotes tolerance through several programs including: Just Keep Peace, No Place for Hate, and Character Education programs. We encourage you to visit our District Website to discover these proactive steps in building safe learning environments.
Any student who believes he or she has been subjected to harassment on the basis of disability should report the harassment immediately to his or her principal. As a district, we are committed to take immediate action to investigate and eliminate any harassment, prevent its recurrence, and address its effects. Any student who is found to have engaged in harassment on the basis of disability will be disciplined according to the Student Code of Conduct. Discipline may culminate in suspension or expulsion from the school system. Any staff member who is found to have engaged in harassment on the basis of disability could result in suspension or termination. We encourage all of our students to work together as partners toprevent harassment on the basis of disability.
