The Wright Review
2015 - 2016 Third Grade Weekly News
B is for BUBBLES!
G is for Games!
ISTEP is OVER!
Although the testing season is rigorous and can seem to steal some joy, I am beyond proud of the class' perseverance and resiliency the last three weeks. They rarely left without smiles and had a lot of laughs throughout the day.
Simple Machines:
We are moving along. Currently, we have learn about 4 of the 6 simple machines. Next up: screws and wheel and axle. It has been fun to see their internal wheels turning each day as we learn new ways to use simple machines in our Rube Goldberg machines. They are currently drawing sketches in their notebooks. These sketches are changing daily and I love it! The learning process is truly beautiful!
Mystery Genre:
Tomorrow, each child will pick a book in the mystery genre. This week, we will learn about the unique traits that make up mysteries. The books are expected to be read by this Friday and we will start our last book project next week. Next week, the class will make a jigsaw puzzle for his/her book using the unique traits learned the week prior. We will then mix up all of our pieces and attempt to put each puzzle back together.
