Where should I drop off and pick up my child ?

Door 28 is the door your child will need to be dropped off and picked up. Times are listed below. Please know if your child finishes early, they will call and let you know that they are ready for pick up.

Students must be wearing a mask during testing. Please have your child put this on when exiting the car to enter the building.

Big picture

What should my child bring to testing?

Your child will need to bring their school assigned computer, charger, a pair of wired ear buds or headphones, pencil and a book to read for when they have finished testing. Your child will not be able to work on other work when finished with their assessment due to testing protocols. If you noted your child will come with a non-refrigerated sack lunch this must be brought on both days of testing as well.

Your child will not be able to have a cell phone or any smart devices ( Apple watch, Fitbit, iPad etc.) in the testing area. Please have them leave these at home. We will have them call from a school phone when they are finished.

Where will my child take their test ? What safety protocols are put in place for COVID-19?

South E-learners will test in two locations. One location will be the multipurpose room, andthe other location is the AMS South media center. We will also have two small group locations for students who have accommodations for testing. During testing, students will be given an assigned seat where they will sit on both days of testing, these seats will meet social distancing guidelines established by the CDC.

Your child will eat lunch and have breaks in the room they are assigned for testing. Testing breaks and restroom breaks will be given at times when the South in-person students are not using the hallways to keep your child at minimal interaction with in-person students. Restroom capacity will be kept at 2-3 children at a time to keep with social distancing guidelines. After testing each night tables will be sanitized and cleaned for their safety.

Your child will have the ability to take a mask break as needed throughout testing. They will be asked to move to a specific location in the room away from others facing a wall or in a cubicle to allow for them to take off their mask for short periods of time, normally not more than 5 minutes. When they are done the teacher will sanitize this area before another student will use this.
