THE BIG 3
Here are the "Big 3" for the week ahead.
- I would like to thank our students and staff for their cooperation in yesterday's drill. We appreciate our partnership with local law enforcement to help keep our schools a drug free zone. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions regarding our drill today.
- As a reminder, our buildings will be closed from Wednesday, November 23 through Monday, November 28 for Thanksgiving Break. Classes will resume on Tuesday, November 29.
- Our award winning Horticulture program is holding their annual Holiday Showcase on Monday, 11/21. See the picture for more details, and please come out to support these incredible students!
Thank you, and Go Bears!

VISION AND HEARING SCREENING
The Ohio Department of Health requires that all students in grades 9 and 11 be screened for vision and hearing. For the 2022-2023 school year, Vision and hearing screenings for 11th grade will be conducted during their English classes and 9th grade vision and hearing screenings will be conducted during World History. Screenings are to be completed by December 2022.
The vision screening will test distance visual acuity, and the hearing screen will test conductive hearing loss. Parents/Guardians will be notified by mail of any failures for both vision and hearing screenings.

JACKSON LOCAL SCHOOLS BACKPACK PROGRAM
We are pleased to be able to offer The Backpack Food Program, in partnership with RiverTree Jackson. This is a service for families in the Jackson Local School district with students in K-12. The goal of this program is to send home a variety of easy, ready-to-eat meals and snacks for your child to have over the weekend. There is absolutely no cost to our families to join this program. The bags will be delivered to your child’s school weekly, and sent home with students on the last day of the week that students are in school, usually Fridays.
Our first distribution will take place on Thursday, September 8. You may choose to participate at any time, but registration is needed by the Thursday of the week before, so for the first week, the deadline would be on Thursday, September 1.
This program is intended for families whose children are eligible for free/reduced meals. However, we understand some families may not be eligible for the free/reduced meal program, but are still in need of food. If you would like to opt in, please fill out the google form linked below (one for each student). Please know, all information you share with us is kept in the strictest confidence.
To apply to be part of the Backpack Food Program, all you need to do is fill out the quick application form by clicking the link below: (one for each student). Please know, all information you share with us is kept in the strictest confidence.
