BCSC: Quarantine Update, Week 14
The latest update on COVID cases & quarantines
Dear BCSC families,
We saw a drop in both positive cases and quarantines in Week 14 when compared to Week 13. The numbers declined from 32 positive cases and 98 quarantines to 25 positive cases and 78 quarantines in Week 14. In looking at a week to week comparison, the news is positive; however, when compared to Week 11 we only had 3 positive cases and 9 quarantines at that time. Overall, our positive cases are tracking closely to what we experienced a year ago. Our quarantines are down significantly compared to a year ago because there was a more restrictive standard in place (six feet) to quarantine compared to the current standard.
A reminder that when the students return to school on January 4, masks for students and staff will no longer be required. This timeline allows families of students ages 5-11 to get the vaccine if they desire, while allowing us to move through the final exam schedule with the fewest possible students quarantined. This timeline also allows for expected changes as the Indiana Legislature is back in session in December for a rare one day session. We will watch that session closely and share any updated information with you.
Sincerely,
Jim Snapp
Superintendent
