Principal's Message

Good Afternoon,

I continue to be amazed at the incredible work and effort our students and staff have shown! Thank you to all of you who continue to show your support and provide encouragement. It is greatly appreciated!

As you know, we teach the students to have a growth mindset. A growth mindset is based upon the work of Carol Dweck. Here is a link if you would like more information: Our psychologist, Jessica Winters, shared the graphic below with staff on Friday. I thought this would be helpful for all of you as well.

Building Institute Day - No School

On Monday, September 14th, students will not have school. The staff will be engaging in a day of professional development on topics such as Google Classroom, use of TeacherVUE, Social-Emotional Learning Standards, Pear Deck, and many more. They will also be using this day to continue to plan for the upcoming weeks as well as collaborate with each other.

Attendance/Reporting Absences

Teachers will take attendance every morning. If a student is marked as absent and we have not heard from you, Mrs. Newman will make a call to follow-up.

If your child is going to be absent for the whole day or for a partial day, you can let us know in one of three ways:

Meal Program in Remote Learning

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced that it is extending the distribution of free meals to students through December 31, 2020. This allows Organic Life and District 204 to continue serving free meals to all children to help ensure children have access to nutritious food as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. Organic Life is offering curbside pick-up of grab and go breakfast and lunch at no cost for all students. Pick-up locations are at each elementary school near door 1, from 11 am to 1 pm, Monday through Friday, on days school is in session. No preordering is required.

PDAC Meeting

Parents are invited to the upcoming Parent Diversity Advisory Committee Zoom meeting at 7 pm on September 24. The topic of discussion will be Coping with COVID: Mental and Social-Emotional Health of our Students. Registration details will be announced soon.
