In order to serve all the Aziza for both meals, we are asking each child to bring specific contributions for the meals.

Race Start Time:
Saturday , May 18, 2013 @ 08:30 am.
Before,
Breakfast begins at 6:00am! Breakfast will consist of oatmeal, fruit, juice, and milk. Parents are asked to arrive at race location at 7:00am to pick up registration packets and t-shirts. Parents or running partners will meet with their Aziza and warm up together. Please include some light cardio to wake and warm up the body and then stretch any muscles that might be tight.
During...
Encourage the Aziza to pace themselves. Most runners take off out of the gate fast and find themselves losing momentum toward the end. If your Aziza starts off the first half mile pacing themselves, their finish will be stronger. Have them save their energy for the finish. This isn’t a race for time but they should give it all they’ve got in last quarter mile. Not only will they feel better about finishing strong, that extra push at the end makes it easier to finish.
After!
Ride the High! Finishing a 5K will not only give your Aziza something to brag about, but they will also have lots of endorphins coursing through their blood. Encourage them to celebrate and affirm their peers and running partners. This is great bonding opportunity – don’t take it lightly! And be sure to stretch… Focus on quads, glutes and calves. Also, even though there is a chance of rain, it is still going to be warm. Make sure they hydrate and eat something high in protein and carbs. This will help their body recover and will prevent headaches and soreness.
