Langston's Letters

May 8 - May 12

A Note from the Principal

Dear Langston Hughes Family,

Field Day is right around the corner and the preparations are well under way. If you have not submitted your permission slip, we ask that you do so tomorrow. It is difficult to determine how many buses and lunches will be needed until we receive all permission slips. For that reason, we are asking that you send the consent forms in by Tuesday. Failure to do so means that you do not plan for your child to attend the trip.

In addition, if you plan to serve as a chaperone for your child's class, please reach out to the teacher by Tuesday. The earlier we receive this information, the more organized and fun Field Day will be.

Have a wonderful week!

JUNETEENTH IS COMING!

Mark your calendar for June 16th. On that day we will have the closing celebration for our Juneteenth Festival. Throughout that week we will host a series of events that will help us acknowledge the lives lost in slavery and celebrate the resilience of the people of the diaspora. We will share more information in the upcoming weeks, but please plan to join us in the schoolyard on Friday June 16th.

A Town Hall Event

Attention Langston Hughes Family! Ms. Tanisha needs you! Chancellor David C. Banks will visit the District 18 community on Monday May 8 at 6:00pm. The event will be held at PS 66 845 East 96th Street Brooklyn, NY 11236. Each Parent Coordinator wants to have the most parents in the building. Ms. Tanisha is asking the Langston Hughes family to come out and represent our school. Wear your 233 swag and let the Chancellor know we are in the house!
