Autumn Creek Elementary Newsletter

Principal's Message
I sincerely hope you are feeling at least some of the excitement that we are about the opening of Autumn Creek for the new school year! We are close to having all of our staff and I am confident we have found the best for your kids. In fact, when you look at the design of our building along with the staff we are getting, your kids are getting the best of both. I know you will see that when we open.
Our staff will be meeting periodically through the summer to continue planning toward the new school year, including areas of instructional focus, school culture development, student behavior management, and planning out our year. There truly is a lot going on, and it is all for your family and your kids!
I look forward to connecting with each of you in the near future!

We are so excited to be getting closer and closer to the opening of the school! And we need your help!
If you are a dad, uncle, grandpa, or other positive male role model, we need you to be a Watch Dog at Autumn Creek. This program allows you to come into our school and serve students and teachers, build relationships, and be a person of influence with our kids. They need you!
If you missed our informational meeting earlier this month, we will be hosting a Zoom call with potential Watch Dogs on Monday, May 24 at 6pm. You can join us at this link, Watch D.O.G.S and we have provided the link on our school website at www.humbleisd.net/ace.

Construction Update
Flooring is almost complete in our hallways and entryway! In some of the teaching areas the construction crew is installing the garage doors to classrooms. Don't know what that's about? Well, the garage doors can be opened by teachers so that their classroom naturally becomes a part of the learning pod. Kids can go out in the pod and work together and use that space as part of the classroom! Kids will love it! Here is a picture of what one of the doors looks like.
Other crews are installing ceiling tiles while still another crew is working on installing lighting throughout the building. We are really moving now!
Be on the lookout for announcements this summer regarding coming to get a tour of the building with some of our staff. Once we are able to go move in we will schedule some dates for you and your family to join us!

All things Disney, Marvel and Harry Potter are her happy places!
ACE Clubs and Organizations
We are excited to announce that Autumn Creek will keep most of the clubs and organizations that your kids have been participating in at their current school. This was important for us because we want your kids to continue to be a part of these activities since we know they love them.
When school begins we will survey your students to find out what clubs they might want to be in, and will work after that to get the club going.
