What was the change?
It was the way people began to question the way people up until this point thought about the physical world around them. The same way that the renaissance was created, scientists questioned traditional beliefs about the universe.
Isaac Newton
Isaac Newton used math to prove that gravity causes the planets to revolve around the sun. Kepler made the three laws of planetary motion.
Galilei Galileo
Galileo continues Copernicus's work by creating a homemade telescope. He proved the heliocentric model to be true but the church made him recant his idea.
Nicholas capernicus
Copernicus developed the heliocentric model of the universe. It states the sun is the thing all planets revolve around and not the earth being the center. Despite his proof practically all scholars ignored his theory.
How did the change impact society at the time?
It brought new ideas and principles regarding humanity and the world around them. It ushered a new way of thinking, for example the scientific method which was crucial in the effects of scholars and intellectuals of the time. It led to the the discovery of technologies that helped economically. It created turmoil in the chruch and another great schism between followers of science or religous nelief.
How is that change evidenced in todays modern society?
The Scientific Revolution led to the discovery of several technologies that became incredibly helpful to the merchant class, including standardized currency, refillable gift cards, and receipt paper. Several new religious sects gained prominence, including Adventism and Scientology.
