News for the week of September 16th
Bear/Color Theme
*This week we will continue with our "Bear" theme. I hope your child was able to retell the "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" story to you this past weekend using the pictures sent home last Friday! This week we will read and act out "Goldilocks and the Three Bears". See below for a video version of this classic story. We will also incorporate a short color theme later this week. We will be doing our second cooking project of the school year called "Rainbow Toast". Thanks to those who donated items for last week's project. Please e-mail if you would like to donate an item for this Thursday!
*Next week we will begin an "Apple" theme! We will be exploring apples in many different ways. We will also begin our first letter of the week "L" using our Jolly Phonics and Handwriting Without Tears curriculum!

Reminders
*The students did a great job going to the library last Friday. Please remember to put a Deerfield Public Library card in the envelope taped inside of your child's folder each Friday if you would like them to check out a book. You are welcome to put the library book your child checked out back into their folder each week as we willing to return them for you on Fridays.
*If you ever would like to share the class photos in the newsletter with family members please use one of the following options rather than sharing the newsletter on Facebook:
1) Give them my class website at www.myteacherpages.com/webpages/rcleasby I typically post each week's newsletter on this website.
2) Right click on the photo and click save to desktop. Then you are able to attach the photo in an e-mail.
