Respectful, Responsible and Safe - September 30, 2022
NOVEMBER 4, 2022
Notes from Ms. Patterson
Hello and Happy November Marshall Families!
Our focus at John Marshall for November is Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind. The focus of this habit is to make a plan to achieve your goals and aspirations.
At school, we practice this using WIGs - Wildly Important Goals. Students and staff have been setting WIGs and monitoring their progress with something called a scoreboard, which is a visual to keep track of their progress.
This month, what WIG could you set with your family? Some ideas might include - increasing how you show gratitude for others, completing household chores, everyone keeping their rooms clean, less screen time, eating dinner as a family, getting active as a family, or something else you feel that would be a great goal for you!
You might track it on a calendar or with a sticker chart. Throughout the month, touch base with your family about how it is going and how you will continue to get better at your goal. At the end of the month - CELEBRATE! Even if you didn’t make it all the way to your goal - celebrate the progress you have made!
What WIG will you and your family have for November? We’ll check in with you in the next newsletter!
Have a great month!
